Welcome to My Sister’s Bake Shop where the name itself contains two truths and a lie. Truth #1; we are a brick and mortar shop located at 107 Franklin St. in Harbor Springs, MI. Truth #2; We bake. Everything. Unlike a standard bakery, where ironically, most things are actually fried, we are bakers of all things delicious with a twist toward healthy. The lie? My sister has nothing, but nothing, to do with this business. I just thought it would be fun for you to say you are running to your sister’s for some fresh scones or such.

 

This business is the hobby gone awry; it’s as simple as that. It began as a way to combat the high price and low nutritional value of commercial granola bars I gave to my kids. A glutton for praise, I began selling them at local Farmers Markets and piqued the interest of a local specialty food shop and segued into the world of wholesale.

 

Two Farmers Markets later and with multiple wholesale accounts, we moved into our own commercial space after renting in other commercial kitchens around northern Michigan for several years.

 

Things have changed for our little shop over the years and currently we are open Fridays and Saturdays November through May. In the summer, we are at Harbor Springs Farmers Market on Wednesdays with limited preorder sales available for pick up on Fridays. The best way to learn about those is by subscribing to our Newsletter or by giving us a call.

 

Our #1 specialty is scones followed closely by granola bars, cookies, crackers, and other sweet treats.

Everything is made on site with the freshest, most local, organic (when possible and practical) ingredients we can find.
